    How to do such as setup?

    PC 1 <---> Router <---> PC 2

    PC 1 has IIS running and is acting as a server of sort. I intend to create some ASPX pages located on PC 1 and how do i access those pages from my browser in PC 2?

    It's the setup that simple?

    There are few methods:

    1) If you just wish to access the ASPX pages on PC1 from PC2, get a cross cable and connect PC2 to PC1.

    2) Get a switch or hub. Connect both PC1 and PC2 to it using straight cable.

    3) In your example. More things to do, if you are using those layer 3 router, you will need to configure IP addresses on both interfaces of the router. Then from PC1 try to ping to PC2.

    4) If you are using those ADSL/Cable router, it probably build in with 4 ports switch/hub -- refer to item 2.

    All the above, you will need to configure the IP address correctly then try to ping each other PCs.

    IP address has been set and i can ping the PC, so that means it's done?I can't access the aspx pages on PC 2 by typing in PC 2's IP and the relevant aspx page?

    Yes it's that simple. As long as you can pign the other PC and see the pages, the connection is up.

    locally on the PC where you run the service can access the pages? If you can the probably there could be some kind of Windows Firewall, try disable first.

    If you can't access locally, then the service is not running.
