After individually writing and telling people repeatedly, I should have figured earlier to just pen it down here and reference to everybody.
I will be flying out of Singapore on 27th September to Washington, having "accepted" Microsoft's invitation to attend the
global MVP Summit at Redmond. The Summit lasts to 1st October.
For those who did not know (well cannot be blamed since I never made big loud news about it), the beginning of this year saw me awarded by Microsoft as a Most Valuable Professional for consistently helping and advising the local community of developers in Microsoft technologies. Talk about making an announcement of pregnancy after the baby is born.... Beyond that I will continue to remain there awhile longer to accomodate the
ASPInsiders Summit, a shorter three-day affair (3rd - 5th October) with a smaller group interfacing directly with the ASP.NET team - the developer branch that provides us web developers with a fantastic application platform to produce those browser-based applications you use in the Internet/intranet (observe ".aspx" in your URL requests). Other than the technical content, I wish most to finally meet up face to face with my American and European mates. They have been the ones who inspired and taught me such a great deal and enabling me to be who I am right now. Many smiles and handshakes are in order for this trip.
Due to loss of time crossing the International Dateline, I will be scheduled to return back in Singapore on 8th October.
INSERT: I did a check with a
city distance calculator and found that I flew approximately 13000Km (8060 miles) in 14 or so hours.
